Rocco Commisso, the president of the Italian team Fiorentina, has passed away.
Fiorentina announced on Saturday the death of Rocco Commisso, the club’s president, who passed away at the age of 76.
"Fiorentina announces with deep sorrow the passing of President Rocco B. Commisso. With great pain and sadness, the Commisso family, along with his wife Catherine, children Giuseppe and Marisa, as well as sisters Italia and Raffaelina, announce the passing of President Rocco B. Commisso.
After a long period of medical treatment, our beloved president has left us, and today we all mourn his passing," the Italian club announced.
Commisso had been the president of Fiorentina since 2019, when he took over the team.
Besides Fiorentina, Rocco Commisso also owned the American team New York Cosmos, since 2017.
