A British Airways plane made an emergency landing at Otopeni: 4 passengers, intoxicated with smoke

An aircraft belonging to British Airways, traveling on the Istanbul – Lodra route, landed on Thursday at Henri Coandă Airport after four passengers reportedly suffered smoke inhalation.

„An aircraft belonging to British Airways, operating a flight on the Istanbul – Lodra route, requested an emergency landing at Henri Coandă Airport today at 5:50 p.m. as four passengers were experiencing medical issues. According to initial information, it appears that those passengers may have been affected by smoke inhalation,” announced Bucharest National Airports Company on Thursday.

The source cited by News.ro stated that an emergency response team was immediately deployed at the airport.

The aircraft landed safely at 6:14 p.m., with the airport's medical team and a SMURD crew boarding the plane.

The Ministry of Health confirmed the presence of smoke on board and reported that all passengers were evacuated. Four individuals are feeling unwell, potentially due to smoke inhalation, and are receiving medical assistance on-site.
