Jorge Costa, former coach at CFR Cluj, has passed away

Jorge Costa, former coach at CFR Cluj in Romania, has passed away at the age of 53.

The press in Portugal reports on Tuesday that Jorge Costa, a Champions League winner as a player with Porto in 2004, passed away following a cardiac arrest.

According to reports, Jorge Costa was at Porto's training base when he suffered a cardiac arrest. The club's general manager was urgently transported in critical condition to São João Hospital in Porto, where he passed away later in the afternoon, as announced by several sources in the Portuguese press.

Jorge Costa was a coach at CFR Cluj (2011/2012 season) and also at Gaz Metan Mediaș (September 2020 - February 2021).

He was a significant player in the history of Porto, where he also served as captain, winning eight league titles, as well as the UEFA Cup (2003) and the Champions League (2004).
