Heatwave in Greece: Three foreign tourists found dead within a week, three others missing

The body of a 55-year-old American tourist was found on the island of Corfu on Sunday, bringing the total number of foreigners found dead in Greece to three within a week. Another three are missing on other Greek islands, according to the Greek press.

The American's body, discovered at sea near the Mathraki port by a tourist, is set to be transferred to the hospital in Corfu for an autopsy, according to the Greek news agency Athens News Agency and the public television channel ERT.

The man was on vacation in Mathraki. He was last seen on Tuesday by locals in a café.

This is the latest discovery of a foreign tourist's body, following the finding of the body of Michael Mosley, a British television star, who was found dead on June 9 on the Greek island of Symi in the Aegean Sea.

Additionally, on Saturday, the body of a Dutch tourist was found on the island of Samos.

Furthermore, at this time, two French women are reported missing on the island of Sikinos and another tourist on the island of Amorgos.
