More than half of Romanians (56.4%) expect Nicușor Dan to be a president more involved in public life, according to a barometer Informat.ro – INSCOP Research.
36.7% expect the former mayor of the Capital to be a president more absent from public life, while 6.8% do not know or do not respond to this question.
I believe that Nicușor Dan will be a president more involved in public life especially: PNL, USR, and PSD voters, individuals over 60 years old, those with higher education, and urban residents.
Those who hold the opposite opinion are especially: AUR voters, individuals under 45 years old, those with primary education, rural residents, and Tik-Tok users.

Consensual President vs. Conflictual President
Also, 61.7% of Romanians believe that Nicușor Dan will be a president who will mediate, seek consensus more. 28.3% believe that the new president will rather seek conflict. The proportion of non-responses is 9.9%.

"After a president who excelled in conflict and a president who excelled through absence, especially in the second term, Romanians desire a president who is involved and consensual. The majority of Romanians (56.4%) believe that President Nicușor Dan will be rather involved in public life, with expectations in this regard being stronger among PSD (77%), PNL (91%), and USR (92%) voters.
In contrast, only 16% of AUR voters believe that Nicușor Dan will be an involved president, compared to 77% of voters from this party who believe he will be an absent president. Additionally, over 60% of Romanians believe that President Nicușor Dan will rather mediate, seek consensus. This opinion is shared by 85% of PSD voters, 94% of PNL voters, and 97% of USR voters, in contrast to AUR voters who hold this opinion to a proportion of only 20%.
The perception regarding the profile of President Nicușor Dan, newly elected, demonstrates the deep polarization of Romanian society on multiple criteria (especially based on political sympathies and education level)," stated Remus Ștefureac, INSCOP Research director.
The data was collected between May 26-30, 2025. Research method: questionnaire-based interview.
The data was collected through the CATI method (telephone interviews), with a simple stratified sample volume of 1150 individuals, representative of significant socio-demographic categories (sex, age, occupation) for the non-institutionalized population of Romania, aged 18 and over.
The maximum permissible data error is ± 2.9%, with a confidence level of 95%.
