Iulian Dumitrescu has resigned from the leadership of PNL Prahova

Iulian Dumitrescu, under investigation by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) for multiple corruption charges, has resigned from his position as the president of the Prahova National Liberal Party (PNL).

„I had a discussion with President Ciucă, and we will strengthen the branch and prepare it for the upcoming elections. (…) Probably there will be a temporary interim, especially with the elections approaching, but unity is established and guaranteed.

It was not a resignation made due to someone's emotional state, but simply a serious consideration for the medium term because a set of elections is coming up, and this unity must lead us to the best possible outcome," stated Mircea Roşca, the organization's general secretary and deputy, to Agerpres on Thursday.
