Trump expands the list of “undesirable” countries: “They have flooded our nation with criminals and leeches. We don’t want them”

The Trump administration is preparing to expand the list of countries whose citizens will no longer be allowed to enter the United States following last week’s attack in Washington, several American media outlets reported on Tuesday.

The Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, stated on X on Monday evening that she had recommended to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, „a total entry ban for the citizens of every cursed country that has flooded our nation with criminals, leeches, and welfare dependents,” as reported by AFP.

"We don't want any of them," she concluded, without specifying which countries she was referring to.

"We don't complain about problems, we solve them. Under President Trump's leadership, the Department of Homeland Security is combating the persistent immigration fraud in Minnesota, which has stolen billions of dollars from American taxpayers. We are just getting started," Noem emphasized.

In June, Donald Trump banned entry into the United States for citizens of 12 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, and Haiti, citing "national security" concerns. Citizens of seven other countries, including Venezuela, are subject to visa restrictions.

The American Secretary aims to increase the number of these countries from 19 to over 30, CNN and CBS reported on Tuesday, citing officials, without providing further details.

Following the attack in Washington on November 26, attributed to an Afghan citizen who killed a National Guard member and seriously injured another soldier, the Trump administration froze all asylum decisions in the United States.

Additionally, a review of all "green cards" granting permanent resident status in the country has been ordered for citizens of the 19 targeted countries since June.

Donald Trump has made the fight against illegal immigration a top priority, referring to an "invasion" of the United States by "foreign criminals" and extensively informing about the deportation of immigrants.

But his mass deportation program has been thwarted or slowed down by numerous court decisions, especially on the grounds that the targeted individuals should be able to assert their rights.
