The body of a young woman was found in a field at kilometer 64 on the A1 Bucharest-Pitești Highway.
The discovery was made on Friday when police officers from Rural Section 10 Petrești were alerted.
The body was located in the field near the exit ramp of the A1 highway, in the village of Olteni, Uliești commune, as reported by the Dâmbovița County Police.
The body was transported to the Dâmbovița County Legal Medicine Service for a necropsy to be performed.
„Following the genetic expertise, the victim’s identity will be established with certainty,” stated the Dâmbovița County Police.
The dismembered body is believed to be that of a woman around 30 years old, who was engaged in prostitution, according to police sources cited by ProTV.
Investigators are now trying to determine who took the victim’s life and are analyzing the footage from the surveillance cameras placed in the area.
„The driver noticed a human foot in a plowed field. We went there and said, ‘Let’s get out of here, because indeed, there is a foot.’ We got in the car, went to the police, went to the scene, showed them what we had told them. After the sneakers, that’s what we found, that it was a woman, that it was a small foot,” a witness recounted to ProTV.
The body was dismembered, and pieces of it were found a few dozen meters away, under a bridge.
„It was in a plastic bag, after a jute bag, and branches were placed on top. I received information that another hand and foot were found. It’s not from our area. From external sources, it could be from Argeș County,” stated Iulian Costache, the mayor of Uliești commune.
The woman was killed elsewhere, her body was dismembered, wrapped in plastic, and brought by car to an area the murderer considered isolated.
Police suspect that it might be a person reported missing by their family some time ago. However, they are waiting for the DNA test results to be sure it is indeed the respective victim, according to Observator News.
The murder took place a month ago. The body showed significant signs of decomposition, as well as animal bite marks.
