Issues with the squad for Turkey ahead of the play-off against Romania. Two important footballers were absent from training

The Romanian national team will face Turkey on Thursday in a playoff match for qualifying for the World Cup 2026, and the Ottoman team is facing some significant roster issues.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced on Saturday evening that two important players were unable to participate in the last training session led by the Italian coach Montella due to medical issues.

Goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır and forward Barış Alper Yılmaz were absent from training due to injuries. Therefore, the Turks have decided to start a medical treatment so that the two can recover in time for the playoff match against our team.

In addition to the aforementioned two, defender Abdülkerim Bardakcı trained separately from the rest of the team, only doing light running alongside the group, as reported by the newspaper hurriyet.com.tr.

Turkey - Romania will be played on Thursday, March 26, at 7:00 PM, broadcasted by Prima TV and LIVE text, play-by-play, on our website SpotMedia.ro. If we defeat the Turkish team, we will play the playoff final for the World Cup on March 31 against the winner between Slovakia and Kosovo.
