CFR Cluj has drastically reduced the price of Louis Munteanu (23 years old), the top scorer of the championship last season.
Through the voice of Iuliu Mureșan, the club’s president, CFR Cluj announced that they are willing to sell Munteanu at a much lower price than the one requested last summer.
Mureșan said that, in his opinion, the striker could be sold for an offer of 5.6 million euros. However, the club's official from Gruia hopes that in exchange for Louis Munteanu, CFR Cluj will receive at least 7 or 8 million euros.
"I hope Louis will transfer to another club and we can benefit, get some money in. The price is set by the market, we are forced to sell him. If we receive a sum and that's it, we have to sell him for that amount. It won't be small, but still, there will be millions.
The amount that was at the end of the last championship was one. Now it has decreased, his performance in this championship is not at the same level.
(n.b. - If an offer of 5-6 million comes, should he be sold?) I think yes, but I hope it will be at least 7 or 8 million euros. I hope! The important thing is if there is a club that wants him, the important thing is for him to agree to leave," stated Iuliu Mureșan, on Digi Sport.
Louis Munteanu has only scored three goals this season for CFR Cluj, in all competitions.
