Diana Șoșoacă, officially indicted: When I will be the President of Romania, you will all be in jail!

Diana Șoșoacă arrived at the General Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, where she was summoned to be questioned in a case where she is accused, among other charges, of antisemitism.

The prosecutors officially announced the initiation of criminal proceedings against her for 11 offenses.

Șoșoacă took the opportunity for a public appearance among supporters displaying banners with „Solidarity with Diana Șoșoacă” and offering her flowers. People came with vuvuzelas and waved the Romanian flag, alongside the flag of S.O.S. Romania, but one also had a scarf with Palestine.

Chants were heard such as "Long live the queen, mother of nature!" and "Diana, Diana".

Șoșoacă shook hands with them and even embraced some. She shouted her hallucinatory messages through a megaphone:

"I came to the judgment of the devils. I'm not afraid of them, I'll move their whole building. We live in a dictatorship. I can't wait to be arrested, so you can see the reports we'll make in prison."

"The moment will come when S.O.S. Romania will come to power, the moment when I will be the president of Romania, and all of you will be in prison and at the Danube-Bucharest canal for how you have mistreated Romanians."

"It is the moment of sacrifice. Neither job, nor school, nor positions, nor houses, nor cars, nor gold matter anymore. It's us against them. There is a chasm between us, and the Romanians are asleep."

"Therefore, starting today, we are launching actions worldwide. We will send international notifications everywhere to help us break free from the dictatorship. I don't care who saves us, whether it's China, Russia, America, Venezuela, India, Iran. We need help," said Șoșoacă, as quoted by Agerpres.

"Massive arrests to follow". "They need Diana Șoșoacă in prison for 25 years"

Upon leaving the Prosecutor's Office, Șoșoacă stated that she was informed of her status as a defendant in the case.

"The General Prosecutor's Office is the most corrupt institution of the Romanian state. The European Prosecutor's Office is the most corrupt institution of the EU. I did not come here to kneel or to submit," Diana Șoșoacă further stated.

She announced that she refused to give a statement, arguing that with the opening of this case against her, "Romania is entering a dictatorship" and "massive arrests of those who support the nationalist cause will follow."

"I was informed of my status as a suspect. Subsequently, after being informed of the facts and accusations, immediately an ordinance was shoved in my face - although I should have been allowed to study the case - turning me from a suspect into a defendant," stated Șoșoacă, as reported by News.ro.

The prosecutor who questioned her "was visibly shaking."

Șoșoacă also claimed that "the trial will be one that ends very quickly."

"They need Diana Șoșoacă to go to prison for 25 years," the MEP declared.

Prosecutors announce the initiation of criminal proceedings for 11 offenses

On September 23, the General Prosecutor's Office requested the European Parliament to lift the immunity of MEP Diana Șoșoacă, for committing several offenses, including Legionnaire propaganda.

Diana Șoșoacă was summoned to the Prosecutor's Office on the same day, but did not appear for questioning.

According to prosecutors, Diana Șoșoacă is being investigated for:

  • 4 offenses of unlawful deprivation of liberty (meaning she allegedly detained individuals against their will, in the case of Italian journalists);
  • 4 offenses of public promotion of the cult of persons convicted of genocide against humanity and war crimes, as well as promoting fascist, Legionnaire, racist, or xenophobic ideas, concepts, or doctrines
  • public promotion of anti-Semitic ideas, concepts, or doctrines
  • denial, contestation, approval, justification, or minimization in an obvious manner, by any means, in public, of the Holocaust or its effects
  • outrage (assaulting or insulting a public official in the exercise of their duties).

Commemoration at the wayside cross in Tâncăbești and praise of Ceaușescu

At the end of November 2024, Diana Șoșoacă went to the wayside cross in the Ilfov village of Tâncăbești, where a commemoration was held for 86 years since the death of the leader of the Legionnaire movement, Corneliu Zelea-Codreanu, and 13 other members of the far-right movement.

"It is my right to consider whoever I want a patriot," said Diana Șoșoacă about Corneliu Zelea Codreanu in a Facebook live broadcast.

In October 2024, the General Prosecutor's Office self-seized and opened a criminal case after Diana Șoșoacă paid tribute to the former Legionnaire leader Corneliu Zelea Codreanu.

Displeased that the judges of the Constitutional Court invalidated her candidacy in the presidential elections, Diana Șoșoacă went live on Youtube and honored the former Legionnaire leader Corneliu Zelea Codreanu.

"From this moment, Romania is over, there is no longer a state, there is nothing. I can only say 'Long live the Legion and the Captain' who were killed by the same Jewish power that acted then and now. Shame on everyone!" said Șoșoacă.

In February 2025, the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMER) filed a criminal complaint against Diana Șoșoacă for promoting the cult of the communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu, convicted of genocide, at the General Prosecutor's Office.

Thus, on February 11, 2025, Diana Șoșoacă made an intervention in the European Parliament, recommending to her colleagues to develop foreign policy strategies following the model of dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu, stating that "No one has ever equaled him."
