Central defender Radu Drăgușin could be removed from the English team Tottenham Hotspurs, even in this transfer window.
Injured in January during a match against Elfsborg in the Europa League, Drăgușin could remember that game as his last in the London team’s jersey. The 23-year-old Romanian suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his right knee and has been sidelined since then.
The Tottenham Hotspur News website has just noted that there is a very high chance that by the end of the transfer window, on September 1st, Drăgușin will be sold by Tottenham.
On the list of possible departures until next month are, in addition to the Romanian, players like Richarlison or Yves Bissouma from Mali. Furthermore, even if he were to stay at the team managed by Thomas Frank, the 23-year-old center-back would have minimal chances of playing:
"Radu Drăgușin has become a player that Tottenham has somewhat forgotten. This is considering he has been sidelined for several months after the serious injury he suffered in January. The arrival of the new manager, Thomas Frank, could be to Drăgușin's detriment. Firstly, the Romanian still has to wait a few months before returning to the field. Therefore, Frank must prepare the team's near future without him. Then, a question arises: is it worth keeping Drăgușin at Tottenham? Because even when he is fit to play, he will be at the bottom of the list in terms of the defensive department. Indeed, it would be a tough decision from owner Levy to sell a player who has been sidelined due to injury for such a long period. But the club owner is aware that he must be ruthless in the decisions he will make this summer," wrote Tottenham Hotspur News.
Drăgușin was brought to Spurs in the summer of 2024 from Genoa for a fee of 30 million euros.
