Simona Halep has announced the name of the coach she will have after parting ways with Patrick Mouratoglou.
Our athlete will be coached by Spaniard Carlos Martinez, who has worked with several well-known players in the past.
He is 49 years old, born in Barcelona, and has previously worked with Svetlana Kuznetsova, Daria Kasatkina, and Clara Tauson in his career.
"I have spoken with Carlos Martinez, I will have a training period, a getting-to-know-each-other period, so to speak, after Miami, when I will return to Europe. I hope it will go well, I appreciate him a lot, he has worked with players I really liked, such as Svetlana Kuznetsova, and I greatly admire his work."
"I hope we will understand each other and I hope to be able to work at the level he desires and to do a good job together," said Simona Halep to Digi Sport.
Simona went to Miami without a coach, but received advices from Darren Cahill.
She was eliminated in the first round by Paula Badosa and will continue playing tennis in the month of April.
