Ciprian Ciucu is the new mayor of Bucharest, according to the official vote count. He secures a comfortable victory, with about 15 percentage points more than the second-placed candidate. This candidate is not the Social Democrat Daniel Băluță, as indicated by the exit polls, but the independent candidate supported by AUR, Anca Alexandrescu.
In fourth place is Cătălin Drulă from USR, who gathered less than 15% of the votes, followed by Ana Ciceală (SENS), who scored below the numbers from the latest polls, but around 6% of the votes cast.
The results were obtained against the backdrop of extremely low voter turnout. Only 32.71% of eligible voters in Bucharest went to the polls (compared to 39.26% in 2024), which is less than 600,000 people.

The elections were marked by apathy in Bucharest, with low voter turnout. Throughout the day, turnout remained below that of 2024, but towards the end of the day, it increased, with a better voter mobilization noted in Sector 6.
In these circumstances, considering the percentages distributed among the top five candidates, the representativeness of the future general mayor will be extremely limited compared to the 1.8 million registered voters.
Among the first to vote in Bucharest were candidates Ciprian Ciucu and Ana Ciceală, as well as President Nicuşor Dan. When asked why only he voted and not his life partner (who accompanied him to the polling station), Nicuşor Dan vaguely replied: "We owe an answer, there is no problem in the family".
Following them to the polls were Cătălin Drulă and Anca Alexandrescu, all by 10 am. The only one who arrived relaxed, at 12 pm, in casual attire and with bead bracelets, was Daniel Băluţă. Although it was already noon, he started his speech with "Good morning" and called on citizens, especially those from Sector 4, to vote.
Similar to the presidential elections, AUR, which supports Anca Alexandrescu in the Capital's elections, accused that the vote was rigged because deceased individuals were found on the permanent electoral lists.
By the end of the day, the tone of the candidates and political leaders became increasingly heated. Ciprian Ciucu urged Bucharest residents to go to the polls, stating that "there are only two candidates with chances." Simultaneously, Cătălin Drulă talked about "critical hours" and total mobilization, while Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan asked voters to elect "competent and good administrators." Daniel Băluță criticized the attitude of a rival candidate who "declares himself the winner," saying it is "undemocratic and illegal." And George Simion appealed to the sovereignist public, asking them not to heed the boycott called for by Călin Georgescu and to go vote.
