Pentecost and June 1 weather forecast: Holidaymakers may want to pack an umbrella

Those who have made plans for the mini vacation of Pentecost and for June 1st should expect changing weather. Meteorologists announce periods of atmospheric instability in most parts of the country, with showers, thunderstorms, and wind intensifications, but without prolonged episodes of rain.

According to meteorologists, temperatures will remain close to normal values for this time of year.

Showers and local storms, especially on Sunday

The on-duty meteorologist of the National Meteorology Administration (ANM), Oana Catrina, stated to Agerpres that most instability phenomena are expected in the second part of the days.

"During the Pentecost and June 1st mini vacation, there will be long-lasting rains, but few, especially in the afternoon and evening, in the mountains, in the southeastern part, and very likely also in the north-western part of the country," she explained.

On Sunday, several atmospheric instability events are forecasted, especially in mountainous areas, in the east and southeast of the country, but also locally in central regions. Showers, thunderstorms, and short-lived wind intensifications are expected.

More extensive rains expected on Monday

June 1st could bring the most precipitation throughout the entire mini vacation.

According to ANM, rains will affect most regions of the country. "On Monday, there will be somewhat more organized rains. We are talking about periods with rain in most regions," Oana Catrina specified.

Regarding temperatures, they will only have slight variations from one day to another and will remain around the usual values for the beginning of June.

Weather outlook for the seaside

Even tourists opting for the coast will not completely escape precipitation.

However, meteorologists say these will be intervals when showers will occur. "It doesn't mean it will rain continuously, but there will be periods with rain during this Pentecost vacation," explained the ANM representative.

The coastal temperatures will be similar to those in the rest of the country.
