American President Donald Trump directly stated that he did not understand what a journalist from Afghanistan was trying to ask him at the press conference at the White House that he held together with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Instead, he gave the journalist a few compliments.
Journalist Nazira Karimi asked Trump if he has any future plans for the Afghan people, as reported by The Times of India.
"It's a little hard for me to understand you, where are you from?" Trump asked.
"Afghanistan," Karimi and other journalists immediately replied.
"Actually, it's a beautiful voice and a nice accent. The only problem is I can't understand a word you're saying. But I'll just say this, good luck, live in peace," Trump replied, eliciting laughter from those present in the room.
