Russia accuses Romania of interference in its internal affairs, claiming that a „terrorist organization,” banned in Russia, participated in a recent forum held in the Romanian Parliament, and calls were made to Western countries, „including by foreign agents,” to achieve Russia’s military defeat and „dismemberment.”
A special commission of the State Duma (the lower house of the Russian parliament) has sent materials to the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the hostile actions of the Romanian authorities towards the Russian Federation, announced Vasilii Piskarev, the Chairman of the Duma’s Security and Anti-Corruption Committee, as reported by TASS.
The commission states in a press release that at the "Black Sea: the future border for a safe and stable Europe" forum, held on March 19 in the Romanian Parliament, "repeated calls were made to Western countries, including by foreign agents, to achieve Russia's military defeat and to dismember it into several independent states."
In addition, Piskarev added that there were proposals for "removing Russia from the Black Sea," which contain signs of crimes expressed in public calls for actions that aim to violate the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation and in public calls for the initiation of an aggressive war.
Vasili Piskarev claims that representatives of a "terrorist organization banned in Russia" participated in the forum.
The organization mentioned by the official is the Post-Russia Free Nations Forum, an NGO from Poland that organized a debate on March 19 in the building of the Romanian Parliament, titled "Black Sea: the future border for a safe and stable Europe." It was a public event where no involvement of the Romanian authorities was mentioned.

"The commission has reviewed the materials of the forum (...) recently held in the Romanian Parliament with the participation of representatives of a terrorist organization banned in Russia (...) The collected materials have been sent to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for legal assessment and decision-making in accordance with our legislation, as well as to the Russian Foreign Ministry for a political and diplomatic response to the hostile actions of the Romanian authorities, who provided terrorists with a parliamentary platform to launch attacks against our country," said Piskarev, according to a statement from the special commission.
The Post-Russia Free Nations Forum organization has declared objectives of "decolonizing the so-called Russian Federation," reconstructing and structurally transforming Russia, developing the economic and political regions and historical-cultural autonomies, fully implementing civil rights and liberties, and ensuring the social welfare of Russia's inhabitants.
"What we are doing is an anti-colonial and national liberation struggle against the Kremlin's Moscow imperialism. The Terrorist Empire of the Russian Federation, through the liberation of occupied nations and colonized regions, must be replaced with a peaceful and civilized post-Russian space. This is an indispensable component of the new long-term security architecture, both in Europe and worldwide," as stated on the Polish NGO's website.
The organization has been declared a terrorist group by the Russian Supreme Court, accused of promoting separatism and seeking the dissolution of the Russian Federation into independent states under foreign influence.
