Dacia will launch in the second half of the year the new Spring, the manufacturer’s first electric car made in Europe and set to be released in the latter part of this year.

The car will be produced in Novo Mesto – Slovenia, in the same factory as the Renault Twingo and a future Nissan model, according to Profit.ro.

At the moment, Dacia has not revealed any technical details about the new Spring generation. Dacia only mentions that the new model will have 4 seats and promises a spacious trunk.

If production had remained in China, Dacia Spring could no longer be purchased through the Rabla program and would have had to pay special customs duties.

Being made in the EU, the new Spring will be able to benefit from all subsidies and incentives granted by member countries and the Union.

"Dacia confirms the second generation of its first 100% electric model. Produced in Europe, the New Spring opens another chapter for the brand, ensuring at the same time the continuity of a model that has become a benchmark in the market," the company stated in a press release.

Spring was launched in 2021 and has already captured nearly 210,000 customers in Europe, confirming the interest in simple, essential, and affordable electric mobility for everyone, according to Renault officials.

"True to the Dacia philosophy, the New Spring offers everything that is essential: a 100% electric propulsion system, four seats, and a spacious trunk.

Universal and easily recognizable, the name Spring evokes spring, a symbol of renewal and positive energy. With the New Spring, Dacia continues the path towards electric mobility accessible to all. The official presentation of the model will take place in the latter part of this year," the press release further specifies.
