And the decision made by Mircea Lucescu, also at the strong recommendation of the doctors from the University Hospital, is that Il Luce will not travel with his boys. And the newspaper Fanatik found out that Lucescu will remain under the close supervision of doctors, and his assistant Jerry Gane will be on the bench for Romania in Slovakia.
The match does not have a real stake, being a friendly between two wounded teams, which were eliminated in the first phase of the World Cup qualification playoff, us 0-1 against Turkey, and the Slovaks, dramatically, 3-4 against Kosovo. This match could have likely represented the last one in the distinguished coaching career of Mircea Lucescu, who thus bids farewell to football at the age of 80 in a way he certainly would not have wished for.
"The patient was brought to the Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest following a major cardiac rhythm disorder that occurred outside the hospital environment. Currently, the patient is under the care of medical teams, undergoing diagnostic investigations and necessary therapeutic interventions to stabilize the cardiac rhythm. The patient will remain hospitalized at the Emergency University Hospital in Bucharest for monitoring and specialized treatment," announced the aforementioned medical facility in an official press release.
