The Rector of the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA), Remus Pricopie, believes that the first round of the presidential elections was severely flawed, and the Constitutional Court should urgently convene and make the decision to annul it.
„In my opinion, the process was severely flawed and should be annulled. Today, the Central Electoral Bureau and the Constitutional Court should hold emergency meetings and decide,”
"We are in a legislative gray area, but that does not mean that the Constitutional Court cannot make a decision, in these exceptional circumstances, to guarantee the democratic safety of the Romanian state," stated Remus Pricopie for Spotmedia.ro.
According to him, the Constitutional Court should have postponed the decision from Monday and should insist on legalizing Georgescu's campaign, conducted with "zero lei."
"They decided on Monday - that's it! But today, they need to convene and reanalyze the situation, in light of the new information of exceptional gravity," emphasized Remus Pricopie.
The SNSPA Rector highlighted that the Russian Federation orchestrated a coup, disguised by electoral procedures, which, fortunately, failed.
"The Russian Federation orchestrated a coup, disguised by electoral procedures. Fortunately, it failed. Now the Constitutional Court must remove from the ballot the person who should have been the beneficiary of this plot, and the prosecution should extend the investigations to all those who contributed to these illegal acts.
If we don't do this today, it means that we, although we know who Georgescu is - a traitor to the country, trained and launched into battle by the Russians - are moving forward with the scenario devised by the Kremlin. The first round must be repeated under full legality," concluded Remus Pricopie.

On Wednesday, President Klaus Iohannis agreed to declassify, according to the law, at the request of the issuing institutions, the information presented by SRI, SIE, and MAI in the CSAT meeting.
SRI's document shows that data were obtained revealing an aggressive promotion campaign, carried out by circumventing national electoral legislation, and the exploitation of algorithms on social media platforms to rapidly increase Călin Georgescu's popularity.
SIE states that Romania is a target for Russian hybrid actions, including cyber attacks, information leaks, and sabotage.
