Railway traffic is temporarily suspended on Wednesday between the Drăgăneşti Olt and Fărcaşele stations, on the Roşiorii de Vede – Caracal route, after a freight train and a passenger train entered the same track, stopping one in front of the other.
“Rail traffic is temporarily suspended at this time in the Roşiori Nord – Caracal section, due to a railway incident recorded between the Drăgăneşti Olt – Fărcaşele stations, on track II, track I being closed for maintenance.
Rail traffic is temporarily closed between the Drăgăneşti Olt and Fărcaşele stations, after two trains, one freight and one passenger, which were dispatched on the same track, stopped one in front of the other safely, based on the stop indications of the light signals,” announces the National Railway Company "CFR" SA.
According to the source mentioned, the private freight train was dispatched from Drăgăneşti Olt station on track II, and the IRN 348 train (Arad - Bucharest North) was also dispatched on track II, but from the Fărcaşele station.
Both trains stopped in the CF 146+500 km area, without the risk of collision.
The incident will be investigated by a team from AGIFER, the authority that will determine the causes that led to this incident.

R 9016 (Craiova - Roşiori Nord) - at Fărcaşele.
“Representatives of SRCF Craiova will take all necessary measures to restore traffic on track II, between the Drăgăneşti Olt and Fărcaşele stations, after the completion of the preliminary findings by the AGIFER team,” CFR SA preconizes.
