The Turks are giving up on Denis Drăguș as if he's already gone: "His transfer is imminent"

Romanian forward Denis Drăguș, 26 years old, seems to be the subject of a significant transfer this winter.

The player who belongs to Trabzonspor, and who is currently playing on loan for Eyupspor, could move to Gaziantep in this transfer window. The Romanian international has not received all his money from Eyup in recent months, and his loan will end in January.

At Gaziantep, he would return, as that was the best period of his career so far. Gaziantep has reportedly already reached an agreement with Trabzon for the Romanian, as indicated by information from the Turkish press:

"Drăguș' transfer is imminent. It has been revealed that Gaziantep FK is close to reaching an agreement with Denis Drăguș, whom they tried to bring in during the winter break, and that he could arrive at any moment.

Denis Drăguș' contract, who previously played for Gaziantep and then moved to Trabzonspor but was loaned from there to Eyupspor, will be terminated due to unpaid salaries.

According to information received from sources close to the club, President Memik Yilmaz is personally interested in Drăguș. He met with Trabzonspor and Drăguș, received a positive response, and it's just a matter of time until this transfer takes place," wrote the Turks at gaziantep27.net.

Drăguș is Mircea Lucescu's favorite as a striker for the Romanian national football team, but he will be suspended for the World Cup playoff against Turkey next year due to a red card he received against Bosnia, which led to a 2-match suspension.

Drăguș scored 15 goals for Gaziantep in the 2023-2024 season when he was loaned from Standard Liege by the Turks. This season, at Eyup, Denis played only 12 matches without making any significant contributions. He was bought by Trabzon a year ago for 1.7 million euros.
