The tournament where Simona Halep "is a contender to receive a wildcard"

The international press indicates the tournament where Simona Halep could receive a new wildcard, after the Miami Open and Madrid Open.

Alongside Emma Raducanu, Simona Halep is seen as a favorite to benefit from one of the two remaining wildcards available for the Foro Italico.

Halep had been invited to the main draw in Madrid, a tournament she won in 2016 and 2017, but withdrew at the last moment.

"Simona Halep and Emma Raducanu will have to wait and see if they can play at the Italian Open, after 'missing out' on the first wildcards. The two received wildcards for Madrid, but Simona withdrew and Raducanu lost 6-2, 6-2 against Maria Lourdes Carle, but they can 'eye' the Rome tournament to get in shape. (…) There are two wildcards still available for the women's main draw, and Halep and Raducanu are contenders to receive them," writes the tennis365.com website.
