Simona Halep will miss the encounter between Romania and Ukraine in the Billie Jean King Cup due to medical issues.
The Romanian Tennis Federation has informed that Simona Halep will not be able to attend the scheduled match on April 12-13 in Miami.
"Due to medical reasons, Simona Halep will not be able to join the Romanian team for the Billie Jean King Cup match against the Ukrainian team," FRT stated.
As she cannot play in this match, Simona is also no longer eligible to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris.
Currently, it is unknown how severe Simona Halep's injury is and when she might return to the court.
Simona has not yet requested any wild card for the tournaments in April. Another opportunity could be at Stuttgart, where organizers still have one wild card available.
Everything will depend on the physical condition Simona will have in the following week, as she will start training under the command of Carlos Martinez in Bucharest.
