Simona Halep sent a message to Petra Kvitova (35 years old), who ended her career after being eliminated from the US Open.
Eliminated in the first round of the US Open 2025, Kvitova ended her career, during which she won two Grand Slam titles. The Czech was decisively defeated by Diane Parry (22 years old, 107 WTA), with a score of 1-6, 0-6.
Simona wrote a few words on Instastory after Kvitova played her last career match in the USA.
"Congratulations on everything you have achieved, Petra! Enjoy life," wrote Simona Halep on Instagram.
The defeat to Diane Parry was the last match of Petra Kvitova's 19-year career, during which she won Wimbledon twice, in 2011 and 2014, among others.
"I hoped I could put on a better show today. It was very hard to know that it could be my last match, emotionally it was very difficult. I am happy that I had my last 'dance' in New York. Thank you to everyone, my husband and coach, agent, family. They sacrificed a lot for me. It has been a fascinating journey, thank you!" said Petra Kvitova after her last career match.
Petra Kvitova won a total of 31 WTA titles and earned 37.45 million dollars from tennis.
