Tottenham triumphed in a fabulous way on Saturday evening in their away match against Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, with a score of 4-0.
Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham’s coach, praised Radu Drăgușin, who played the full match in this outstanding victory. Spurs started the game with Drăgușin and Ben Davies in the backline, in the absence of the usual central defensive pair, Romero and Van de Ven, both injured. Both received praise from the Australian coach Ange Postecoglu at the press conference:
"I think all the defenders were great. You have to be like that to achieve something against City! The way they pass the ball and attack constantly puts pressure on you. You have to be focused, and I think Ben and Radu were on point throughout the game. And Vic was very good behind them.
Collectively, we defended very well, but I want to give credit to the two boys, Ben and Radu, because they didn't shy away from starting the game from the backline," stated Postecoglou, as reported by Football London.
"I knew that in the first 10 minutes they would come out attacking, especially since the four defeats they had were away games. So, being at home, there would be energy in the stadium. We had to weather the storm, which we did quite well, and then we got into the game, and I am very happy for the players. City tests you in every possible footballing way. You have to do a bit of everything. You have to defend, work hard, be disciplined, and play football," added the Tottenham manager.
Radu Drăgușin received a rating of 8 for his performance in the victory against Manchester City. With the Spanish coach on the bench, City has only lost once with a 0-4 scoreline in the league, namely against Everton on January 15, 2017. City now has 5 consecutive defeats.
