Radu Drăgușin is already an undisputed starter for the Romanian national team, and his performances at EURO 2024 have been among the best, being a fixed point among the tricolors led from the bench by Edi Iordănescu.
Before the start of the final tournament in Germany, Drăgușin’s agent, Florin Manea, had announced that he would look for a new team for the central defender, considering the Romanian’s reserve status at Tottenham: „If he continues to be a reserve, he will not stay at Tottenham!”, the agent had stated last month.
Meanwhile, Manea has changed his mind and now says that Drăgușin is firmly convinced to prove at Spurs that he deserves to be a starter: "I haven't spoken to anyone, we have no intention of leaving. Let's clarify! It appeared that the player gave his okay, he did not give any okay. He still has 6 years left on his contract with Tottenham. He wants to stay there, nothing has been discussed.
Especially now that the focus is on the Romanian national team, on the European Championship. But he has no intention of leaving and we have not spoken to anyone. No one has contacted us and he does not want to leave Tottenham. He signed in January for 6 and a half years and wants to stay at Tottenham," Florin Manea declared to Fanatik.
However, Italian journalists announced a few days ago that Radu Drăgușin would be willing to return to Italy, where Napoli had firmly announced that they would like to make an offer of 46 million euros for him: "Napoli's attention is once again focused on Radu Drăgușin, 22 years old, Romanian, involved in the European Championship, formerly at Genoa, Sampdoria, and Juventus, now at Tottenham, but eager to return to Serie A. Napoli has the chance to sign him, after missing out on him in January," wrote the journalists from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Drăgușin has played in only 9 matches in the English league and has accumulated a total of 424 minutes on the field at Spurs, a team that acquired him for the sum of 30 million euros from Genoa.
