Petre Brănișteanu, one of Romania’s greatest basketball players, has passed away at the age of 66.
The Romanian Basketball Federation and CSA Steaua announced on Friday the death of Petre Brănișteanu, who was hospitalized in intensive care.
Brănișteanu wore the Romanian national team jersey over 400 times, across all age categories, and played with the senior team in two European Championship final tournaments.
He played for Steaua between 1978 and 1991.
