Ion Țiriac makes a 100 million euro investment in Romanian sport

Ion Țiriac has initiated an investment of 100 million euros in Romanian sports.

The businessman is building an impressive sports complex near the ice rink he owns in Otopeni.

Thus, the businessman will soon inaugurate an Olympic swimming pool, and then will build a gymnastics hall, an athletics and rugby stadium, as well as a tennis complex.

"At the moment, work is being done on the indoor Olympic pool, which is very close to the ice rink. Opposite these two facilities will be the central tennis arena, with 8-9000 seats. We will build the 'Nadia Hall', an athletics and rugby stadium. This complex will meet the latest current requirements."

"100% for athletes are being built. We also have the Pantelimon Sports Complex, where all athletes from the teams, in all age categories, from juniors to seniors, can train there anytime."

"It's hard to say the final completion date. It is being built in stages. In an optimistic scenario, the pool will be ready by the end of this year. Then we will start with tennis... I hope that in 2027 we will host the tennis tournament there," said Hodor for Fanatik.

Based on available information, the costs amount to 100 million euros.
