The international press has drawn a firm conclusion regarding the suspension that Jannik Sinner (1 ATP) received for doping, after reaching an agreement with WADA.
Journalists have noticed that, although Simona Halep and Tara Moore were also victims of contamination with prohibited substances, they did not benefit from as much leniency from the decision-making bodies.
Suspended for only three months, Jannik Sinner "was treated more leniently." Regarding Simona, ITIA requested a four-year suspension for doping with Roxadustat, reduced to nine months by TAS.
"The agreement made for the suspension of Jannik Sinner does little to ease the feelings of other athletes, especially Simona Halep and Tara Moore. Both have also been victims of contamination with prohibited substances. Sinner was treated more leniently than them," writes the international press.
The leader of the ATP ranking, Jannik Sinner, learned his punishment after testing positive. He reached an agreement with WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) and accepted a three-month suspension.
The punishment accepted by Sinner began on February 9 and will end on May 4, 2025.
