Gică Hagi (61 years old), the new head coach of the Romanian national team, is preparing a surprise call-up.
The „King” is starting his second term as the head coach of the Romanian national team on June 2, in a friendly match against Georgia, and his list includes a player who has been „ignored” in recent years.
According to Golazo, Hagi intends to call up Valentin Cojocaru (30 years old), the goalkeeper of the Polish team Pogon Szczecin, where he is an undisputed starter, to the Romanian national team.
Cojocaru has played 31 matches (2805 minutes) in all competitions this season at Pogon Szczecin, and in six of them, he did not concede a goal.
Valentin Cojocaru has played for teams such as FCSB, Crotone, Frosinone, Apollon Limassol, Farul, Dnipro, and Feyenoord.
He is valued at €700,000 by Transfermarkt.
