FCSB is parting ways with a key figure at the end of this season

FCSB, the Romanian champion after a 9-year wait, is parting ways at the end of this season with an important figure.

Former great player Ovidiu Petre, born in Timișoara, who has been part of the champion’s staff as a video analyst, will be leaving the red and blue team as his contract expires at the end of this month. Petre joined FCSB’s staff 5 years ago, writes Golazo.

In place of Ovidiu Petre, another staff member, Ionuț Zottu, will take over the role of video analyst. When he was brought to FCSB in 2019, he was intended to be Bogdan Argeș Vintilă's assistant, but he did not hold an A2 license. He was appointed by Narcis Răducan, who was the sporting director at FCSB at that time.

The former Timișoara native is 42 years old and played for FCSB, known as Steaua at the time, between 2006 and 2010. He played three consecutive years in the Champions League group stage and was sold in the summer of 2010 to Al Nasr for 1.5 million euros.
