Edi Iordănescu is no longer the coach of the Polish team Legia Warsaw.
He resigned after being eliminated in the Round of 16 of the Polish Cup, against Pogoń.
The club's management confirmed the departure of the former national team coach.
"We met with coach Iordănescu and mutually agreed to end the collaboration. After analyzing the results, we decided that, in the current situation, a change is needed for the team to realize its potential and achieve its goals," said sports director Michał Żewłakow on the official website.
Edi Iordănescu left the team in a difficult situation. Legia is only in 10th place, 10 points behind the top position.
Furthermore, the team has just reached the Conference League and has been eliminated from the Polish Cup.
