Saving Parma from relegation could propel Cristi Chivu to a team with ambitions in a different championship.
Romanian coach Cristi Chivu managed to save Parma from relegation in Serie A after an incredible fight in the final stages, and now he could move to another team.
According to journalist Matteo Moretto from Relevo, Ajax Amsterdam is interested in Cristi Chivu for the coaching position of the "Lancers."
Chivu could replace Francesco Farioli on the Ajax bench following the departure of the Italian.
"Parma had excellent performances with Chivu on the bench, and the club would like to continue with him. However, I have exclusive information: Chivu is on Ajax's list to succeed Farioli. We will have to wait and see if Parma and Chivu will reach an agreement to continue or not," the source announced.
Cristi Chivu played at Ajax between 1999 and 2003, became the team captain, and won a league title, a cup, and a Dutch Super Cup. He was named Player of the Season in 2002.
