The Romanian national team has suffered a significant loss in the perspective of EURO 2024.
Midfielder Vladimir Screciu from Universitatea Craiova got injured and will most likely miss the final tournament.
The owner of the team, Mihai Rotaru, announced that his absence will be between 4 and 6 weeks.
This means that Screciu will not play in this season anymore and will practically miss the final tournament as well.
"We have some issues with Screciu. It's a bit more complicated. He will be out for 4 to 6 weeks from now. It's very, very bad news first and foremost for Vladi, then for Universitatea Craiova, and last but not least for the national team. He suffered a recurrence of the injury," said Mihai Rotaru on Orange Sport.
Screciu played 4 matches in the EURO 2024 qualifying campaign and was one of Edi Iordănescu's favorites.
Răzvan Marin, Marius Marin, and Adrian Șut are the options that Romania still has for this position.
