Andrei Rațiu is on the verge of securing the transfer of his career after a good season at Rayo Vallecano.
The publication Barca Universal claims that Andrei Rațiu has once again caught the attention of Barcelona. Catalan officials are impressed not only by the performances of the Romanian defender but also by his low salary, below the threshold of 500,000 euros per season.
The Romanian international has been previously followed by important clubs such as Atletico Madrid, AS Roma, Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen, or Wolves.
If the transfer to Barcelona materializes, Rațiu would face tough competition for the right-back position, where he would battle for a starting spot with Jules Kounde.
Currently, his contract with Rayo Vallecano includes a release clause set at 25 million euros.
In the fall of 2025, Rațiu extended his agreement with the team from Vallecas until 2030.
Last summer, Wolves submitted an offer of 18 million euros for the player, but Rayo rejected the proposal, considering that Villarreal held half of his federative rights at that time.
Subsequently, the Madrid club paid 5 million euros to Villarreal and became the full owner of the Romanian international's rights.
