Anca Todoni defeated Olga Danilovic (116 WTA) in two sets, with a score of 7-5, 6-1.
The match lasted for an hour and 23 minutes.
In the second round, Anca Todoni will face the winner between Coco Gauff (2 WTA) and Caroline Dolehide (51 WTA).
Anca Todoni is only 19 years old, hailing from Timișoara, and has just secured the biggest prize of her entire career.
In fact, she has had a meteoric rise in the past few months, considering that in February she played her first match at a WTA tournament, the Transylvania Open, where she received a wild card.
In April, she entered the top 200 WTA rankings for the first time, and in June, she won her first WTA 125 tournament in Bari.
