”I address you this first message, fully aware of the extremely important moment Romania is in. I take on this role with dignity, bearing all responsibility towards Romanians and our collective future.
From yesterday to today, I have held discussions with officials and familiarized myself with the pressing issues and needs in the fields of Defense, Foreign Affairs, and National Security. These aspects require appropriate solutions and must be approached with seriousness and balance.
My priorities and objectives for my mandate are clear: First and foremost - ensuring the economic, social, and political stability of the country. We have no time to waste, and the risk of facing a major crisis is real. That is why the collaboration of the entire central and local public administration is needed, so that there is good governance, and citizens can trust that the state functions to meet their legitimate expectations,” transmitted Ilie Bolojan.
The interim president also stated that he wants to assure all Romanians that we have a safe, stable country firmly anchored on its European path.
Another major aspect, Bolojan affirms, is that of foreign policy.
”Our country will be well represented externally, with dignity and seriousness. What will come first is the interest of our nation, so that every citizen feels protected and defended. Romania has consistently shown its external allies that it is a stable and reliable partner, and it is extremely important to continue in the same direction,” emphasizes Bolojan.
”We will have fair and transparent elections!”
Furthermore, the interim president specified that an important topic is the upcoming presidential election.
”I send a clear message to all Romanians. We will have fair and transparent elections! The vote is the foundation of democracy, and ensuring elections that are beyond doubt is a major step for Romanians to regain trust in institutions. Therefore, I will make all efforts towards all those responsible contributing with professionalism and good faith to organize free and fair elections.
Here, in front of you, of the Romanians, I declare that I take on with all responsibility the position of interim president of Romania to do everything in my power for each citizen to feel that they can trust those who represent them.
My goal, as interim president, is to restore trust in public institutions, and at the end of this period, to be able to look you in the eyes, knowing that I have worked in your interest and convinced that I have acted with integrity, dignity, and care for Romanians,” concluded Ilie Bolojan.
