The Minister of Justice, Alina Gorghiu, stated on Thursday, regarding a candidacy in the European elections, that ministers do not have this possibility because Prime Minister Ciolacu strongly wished to continue with the same team.
Alina Gorghiu was asked during the briefing after the Government meeting whether she will be on the joint list for the European elections of the PNL-PSD alliance.
"As the Prime Minister and the President of the PNL have said, ministers do not have the possibility to run on the European elections list. The Prime Minister very much wanted to continue with this team; even at the end of the Government meeting, he said he was very pleased that we will all continue in this lineup," Gorghiu stated.
The leadership of the PSD and PNL are meeting on Thursday to finalize the joint list for the European elections and the candidates for the sectors of the Capital, after announcing the candidate for the Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Cătălin Cîrstoiu, the manager of the University Hospital, a day earlier.
Discussions also took place on Wednesday, with the Liberals having an internal meeting at Vila Lac to determine the eligible candidates for the elections on June 9th.
