Trump’s Peace Council, which accepts funds from foreign governments, clearly violates the United States Constitution. Through this organization, Trump is actually receiving bribes from other governments, a practice explicitly prohibited by the fundamental law of the USA, according to an American expert.
„No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust shall, without the consent of Congress, accept any present, emolument, office, or title of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state,” as provided in Article I Section 9, Clause 8 of the Constitution of the United States of America.
The U.S. President has violated this provision by sending invitations to several countries to pay a billion dollars to join the Peace Council, a project established by the White House leader, as highlighted by Dr. Robert Zubrin, an American aerospace engineer, in an opinion article published by Kyiv Post.
So far, the only major power showing interest in Trump's project is Russia.
When asked by a reporter about Putin's offer, Trump replied: "He will join the Peace Council and will make a contribution of a billion dollars using his own money... It's wonderful."
The Russian President has not confirmed this and previously stated that his country is still considering the invitation.
The Kremlin has offered to contribute a billion dollars, on the condition that Russian assets frozen in the USA, blocked to prevent their use in support of Russia's attack on Ukraine, be returned.
Therefore, in exchange for a donation to the Peace Council, Russia would receive the funds needed to massively expand its aggressive war.
Russian Money in Trump's Hands
Zubrin believes that, in reality, Trump will personally receive money from Russia, citing provisions from the executive council's charter of the Council:
- Donald Trump will be the chairman of the board for an unlimited term, unless he decides to resign.
- As chairman, Trump will have veto power over any decision made by the Executive Council of the organization, including all decisions regarding expenses or policies.
- As chairman, Trump will have the power to appoint or dismiss all other members of the Executive Council.
- As chairman, Trump will have the right to interpret the board's charter as he wishes.
Collectively, these provisions indeed give Donald J. Trump - not the U.S. President, but Trump and Trump alone - the perpetual power to fully control the organization and dictate how it will spend its money, notes the American engineer.
For example, if Trump wants to award contracts to Trump's organization to build hotels, he can do so. If he wants to pay himself or anyone else he favors any compensation he desires, that will be his prerogative.
If he wants to use the organization's funds to sue individuals he dislikes or to buy properties, goods, or services for personal use, he will have the power to do so. The Peace Council's money will be Trump's money, Zubrin emphasizes.
This raises some very serious questions that go far beyond Trump's willingness to betray Ukraine.
Trump is Selling His Power
The American Constitution explicitly prohibits any person holding federal positions from receiving funds from foreign governments, for the very wise reason that it is unacceptable for those who control the U.S. government to be exposed to bribes from foreign potentates who may have interests contrary to those of the United States.
The Founding Fathers wisely insisted that America's governmental structure should prohibit any such disastrous possibilities.
As President, Trump has the power to make decisions that could significantly impact foreign interests.
Through the Peace Council, he is selling off the powers he possesses. And it's not just about who gets taxed and who doesn't - as bad as that may be. There are serious national security issues at stake, warns Zubrin.
Russia is not just a threat to Ukraine. Russia has over 1,000 nuclear missiles pointed at the United States and poses a clear and immediate threat to NATO allies. Nevertheless, Trump is willing to unlock Kremlin funds, on the condition that it donates a billion dollars to his coffers.
Decisions that Could Affect Romania, Poland, and Hungary
This could help Russia conquer Ukraine. If this were to happen, Russia's war machine power would significantly expand, the critical strategic weakness along its southwest border, which currently prevents it from attacking the Baltic states, would be remedied, and its armies would advance to the borders of NATO allies, Poland, Hungary, and Romania.
While Poland might fiercely defend itself, from this position Russia could not only easily conquer the Baltic countries, but could also carve a path through Hungary and Austria, directly into the heart of Europe.
On the other hand, there might not even be a need for such an extensive invasion, as after conquering Ukraine and the Baltic countries, Russia would undoubtedly commit large-scale massacres there - as it did in Syria - with the aim of flooding Europe with refugees to bring to power the Alternative for Germany (AfD), the National Assembly of France, and its other anti-immigration puppet parties.
Obviously, this cannot be allowed. Americans cannot allow other critical national security decisions to be made under such influences, concludes Robert Zubrin.
