A new national team has entered the radar of all rankings and statistics worldwide, starting with its first friendly match played on Friday.
We are talking about the national team of the Marshall Islands, in the Pacific Ocean, which played its first match in history on Friday in the United States. Their opponent was the team of the U.S. Virgin Islands, who won 4-0.
The Marshall Islands Football Federation organized the second edition of the Outrigger Challenge Cup on this occasion, a competition hosted by the American city of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Three national teams from Oceania are participating in this competition, as well as the U19 American team from the Ozark United club.
Thus, the Marshall Islands played their first game in history on Friday, clearly losing to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
"Regardless of the score, we are so proud of what they have achieved. Today, a page of history was written," posted the Marshall Islands Federation on their official website.
