Nicușor Dan leads on an upward trend and is likely to win the second round of the presidential elections in Romania, according to data from an IRSOP poll.
Thus, when asked, „If the elections for the position of president were tomorrow, who would you lean towards voting for?”, 52% of the survey participants answered Nicușor Dan, while 48% chose George Simion.
And the sociologist Remus Ștefureac wrote on Facebook this morning that „The Russian party WILL NOT WIN in Romania!”, indicating that from INSCOP surveys, Nicușor Dan is leading among Romanians in the country.
Returning to the IRSOP survey, 51% of Romanians prefer Romania's leadership with Nicușor Dan as president and Ilie Bolojan as prime minister.
On the other hand, 42% of Romanians prefer Romania's leadership with George Simion as president and Călin Georgescu as prime minister.
59% of those surveyed believe that Nicușor Dan will collaborate without scandal with the majority in Parliament.
On the other hand, only 25% of Romanians think the same about George Simion.
When asked, "Who will strengthen our alliance with NATO and the European Union," 54% indicated Nicușor Dan, while only 31% chose George Simion.
Survey participants were also asked which of the two candidates would seek to have good relations with the Russians. 61% answered George Simion and 12% Nicușor Dan.
The survey was conducted from May 10-13 and is part of IRSOP's self-funded program for public information in moments of national interest.
For this survey, IRSOP interviewed 951 people by phone. The sample is representative of the population in Romania aged 18 and over.
The sampling tolerance is +/-3.2% at a confidence level of 95%. The survey represents a public information service fully funded by IRSOP.
