American billionaire Elon Musk asked how a judge can annul elections and not be considered a dictator. At the same time, he announced his support for the Alternative for Germany Party (AfD, far-right).
Elon Musk intervened in the debate regarding the annulment of the presidential elections in Romania, responding to a post on platform X by creator Mario Nawfal. Nawfal described the situation as an „electoral crisis,” with Musk reacting briefly but radically.
Mario Nawfal presented the Constitutional Court's decision to annul the results of the first round of the presidential elections, citing alleged "Russian interference," as reported by Mediafax.
In a succinct comment, Musk rhetorically asked, "How can a judge annul elections and not be considered a dictator?" His post garnered millions of views, amplifying discussions around the situation in Romania.
Additionally, Musk announced his support for the Alternative for Germany Party (AfD, far-right) in a message posted on platform X on Friday, after having financed Donald Trump's successful campaign in the United States and expressed openness to financially supporting Nigel Farage, one of the architects of Brexit, in the United Kingdom, as reported by News.ro.
"Only AfD can save Germany," he wrote - unequivocally - reposting a video recording of a young German YouTuber, Naomi Seibt, an AfD-affiliated activist, who criticizes Friedrich Merz, the leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
In the recording, the influencer states that this CDU-CSU candidate in the upcoming legislative elections in February, credited with 32% in voting intentions, is "horrified by the idea of Germany following the example of Elon Musk and (Argentinian President) Javier Milei" and refuses "any discussion with AfD."
She "suggests that we will never see a reduction in our unnecessary bureaucracy as Javier Milei and Elon Musk do," accused by Donald Trump of being in charge of government efficiency.
"Friedrich Merz, like the other parties, has announced that he refuses to form a coalition with AfD or engage in any discussions with them," she continues.
The German electoral system - designed to favor coalitions - requires alliances between parties.
In July 2023, Friedrich Merz, who has led the CDU since the beginning of 2022, ruled out any alliance with AfD at the state, federal, or European Parliament level.
AfD, a far-right party, opposes migrants, is anti-system, and pro-Russian.
"You are absolutely right," responded co-chair of AfD Alice Weidel afterwards, herself a candidate for the Chancellery seat.
In October, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX criticized the Berlin government's support for NGOs rescuing migrants, posting messages urging support for AfD.
Elon Musk, to whom Donald Trump entrusted official responsibilities in the United States, also intervened in British politics, attacking the ruling Labour Party.
His support for Nigel Farage's Reform UK Party (far-right) made waves in the United Kingdom after the conservative newspaper Telegraph revealed on Tuesday that he is prepared to make "the largest donation in British political history" - $100 million.
