Cristi Chivu has decided his future, four months after parting ways with Inter

Cristi Chivu has not been coaching for some time after parting ways this summer with Inter Primavera, more precisely the Under 19 team of the major Italian club.

The Romanian coached Inter’s youth team for three seasons, but decided to put an end to this period, aiming to become a head coach for a senior team. Being a free agent for about 4 months, Chivu, former captain at Inter, Ajax, or Roma, stated in an interview for the Italian press that he is in no rush and will wait to be offered a project that suits him.

"If I wanted to become a coach at Inter or AS Roma? Never say never. But I have to follow my own path. I feel prepared, but I need to start from the bottom! I am waiting for a call from a sports director who will propose a good project and trust in me!" declared Cristi Chivu, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Before Mircea Lucescu was appointed as the head coach of the Romanian national team, there were discussions about the Romanian Football Federation's interest in appointing Cristi Chivu as the national team coach. Additionally, there were talks about a possible interest from Dan Șucu for the former Romanian defender, Șucu being the owner of Rapid Bucharest.
