Chris Evert, multiple Grand Slam winner, made a statement full of honesty regarding Simona Halep’s (33 years old) return to the tennis court.
Simona will play at the WTA 125 tournament in Hong Kong, where she found out her first opponent, and Chris Evert reacted to the news that Halep will return to the court.
Our athlete has played only two official matches in 2024, after being cleared of doping suspension, and Chris Evert can't wait to see Simona Halep playing again.
"So happy to see you back on the court!" wrote Chris Evert on Twitter, a message conveyed on the occasion of Simona Halep's return announcement to the circuit.
Simona Halep played her last official match in May, at Trophee Clarins, where she withdrew due to an injury that prevented her from continuing.
Aside from the match in Paris, Simona Halep also played, in 2024, against Paula Badosa at the Miami Open, where she received a wildcard and was eliminated in the first round.
