In an awkward situation at Rangers, Ianis Hagi made an unexpected decision.
In the final days before the end of the transfer window, realizing that the chances of selling Ianis are slim, Rangers tried to loan out the Romanian.
Rangers had contacts with several interested clubs, including from the Scottish top flight, and had found a few possible solutions for Ianis.
However, Ianis rejected from the start the possibility of leaving on loan from Rangers.
He conveyed to the club, through his agents, that he would either be sold permanently or would stay and fight for a chance in the first team.
Ianis no longer wanted to leave on loan because he believes that the experience at Alavés did not help him at all.
The Romanian player is of the opinion that loaned players receive fewer opportunities, which is why he did not want to go through another unfortunate experience.
Thus, Ianis remained with Rangers' reserve team, where he started to be left out of the squad.
