Recently, there have been many reports stating that Radu Drăgușin is currently being offered by numerous European clubs, including well-known names like Juventus and Napoli.
These two big teams have been competing with offers for the 22-year-old Romanian central defender, but another team has also entered the picture. Fiorentina has already inquired with Tottenham if they can secure the transfer as early as this winter.
Currently in 4th place in Serie A, the finalist of the last 2 editions of the Conference League, the team from Florence aims to fight for a spot in the Champions League this season. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Fiorentina wants to make a "concrete move" regarding Radu Drăgușin. The only issue seems to be the defensive problems within the British squad, with Romero and Van de Ven often sidelined due to injuries.
"In recent months, Drăgușin has been linked to both Juventus and Napoli. However, 'Viola' have made a concrete move, but Tottenham's defensive issues could also be an obstacle for those looking to bring him back to Serie A," noted the Italian journalists.
Drăgușin has been a regular starter and played full matches in the recent games, although he has still faced criticism even after the last draw, a 1-1 score between Spurs and Rangers in the main Europa League group.
"I could have six central defenders, but tell me a club that has six central defenders who play in every match. It's impossible. I know people tell me I should have signed another one. But how many central defenders can you have? If they are all in form and three won't play and you only have them in the squad..." stated coach Ange Postecoglu, as reported by The Standard.
Radu Drăgușin is currently the only central defender at the disposal of the Australian, following the injuries suffered by Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, and Ben Davies.
