Istvan Kovacs referees his first match at EURO 2024.
UEFA announced on Tuesday on the official website the first match that Istvan Kovacs, the Romanian referee at the European Championship in Germany, will officiate.
Kovacs will officiate the match between Slovenia and Serbia on June 20, at 4:00 PM, in Group C.
He will be assisted by the referees Vasile Marinescu and Ovidiu Artene. The fourth official will be Espen Eskas from Norway, and the VAR referee will be the Dutchman Pol van Boekel.
Kovacs is officiating his second match at a EURO. He previously officiated the match between the Netherlands and North Macedonia, which ended 3-0, at EURO 2020.
