Sorana Cîrstea (30 WTA) was eliminated from the Madrid tournament on Saturday.
Cîrstea lost, with a double 6-1, against world number one Iga Swiatek, after an hour and 18 minutes of play.
Iga Swiatek will face in the round of 16 at the Madrid tournament the winner of the match Viktoria Azarenka - Sara Sorribes Tormo.
For reaching the 3rd round in Madrid, Sorana will receive a check worth 51,665 euros.
