Rejected by Mircea Lucescu, Rapid has begun negotiations with another foreign coach.
In addition to the option of Martin O’Neill, Rapid is also in talks with Northern Irishman Neil Lennon, according to information provided on the Liga DigiSport show.
Lennon has been a free agent since 2012 and in his career has coached Celtic, Bolton Wanderers, Hibernian, and Omonia.
Neil Lennon has won five titles in Scotland, all with Celtic. He has also won four Scottish Cups and a Scottish League Cup.
He has achieved promotion to the Scottish top flight with Hibernian and his most recent trophy dates back to 2022, the Cypriot Cup, with Omonia.
